After Paul came back from terrible war, he tried to keep having his job: chocolate seller. He met Victoria on a train which was on the way to Sacrament to visit a conference for the job.

At that time Paul and Victoria met, each of them had problems. Paul realized that his wife became not to love him seriously so much. That's why Paul got confused [about] what to do. Victoria got pragnant with her professor, and broke up with him. She was very miserable. In addition, she was afraid [that her] father [would] get mad at her because she was pragnant and did not bring the guy. Paul must have felt a kind of crush on her becasue the time that he met her was after Paul felt the problem with his wife. Victoria also should've [been] moved by his kindness.

Alberto was a stubborn guy in a way that he thought, and always behaved unkindly. He did not know any other ways to express his love to anybody. He loved his family including Victoria so much; therefore, he was so hard with Paul.

This movie was also pretty interesting. I really do like the character of Victoria's grandfather [, Don Pedro]. This is one of the points in which I could enjoy the movie.

Teacher's note: It seems that a typical romance of this kind may be very popular with the girls while it may have a problem attracting the interest of the guys. In other words, let's say it makes a great date movie, but how can it get the guys to like it? I notice that "A Walk in the Clouds" tries hard to be a film for everyone to enjoy, even kids. As this author points out, Don Pedro, the grandfather, is a character designed for us guys.

He is the one who believes in Paul Sutton and makes friends with him, even as Alberto refuses to accept Paul into the family. He becomes Paul's mentor, and he seems to know how a man is supposed to think, at least a "real" man. And since he's "Don Pedro," he should know. We are lucky that his character is played by one of Hollywood's great actors of all time, Anthony Quinn, who sadly, left us in 2002.

Paul was a young soldier and he came from war.After he came from war he tried to sell chocolate.Victoria was turning back to her house. Paul and Victoria met on a train by chance.

Paul came from war, but he couldn't forget war.He was seeing one child who was death in his dreams.Also Paul had some problems with his wife. When he came back from war, he recognized that his wife didn't care him.Victoria was afraid his father because she was pregnant, and she broke up.I think Paul was influenced his memories, when Victoria said :"I am pregnant." Paul wanted to help her and her baby. After that Paul recognized that he wasn't influenced just his memories also he was influenced Victoria. Victoria was influenced Paul because of his kind behaviors.

Alberto loved his family and his ancestors. He was confused because of uncommon event. He didn't know anything about Paul. I think he was right except his rude behaviors about Paul family and Paul life. Paul and Victoria hitched. If I were him I act worse than Alberto.

I would like to see Victoria's professor because I hated him.Otherwise this movie such a nice movie, I had fun. I can recommend this movie.

Paul, a soldier who does not have a past, sets out on a trip to start a new job. During the trip, he meets a beautiful lady, Victoria Aragon, in a train. They part once because their destination is different though, Paul finds her again in a bus. In the bus, she is involved in a trouble, but Paul helps her, then knows the situation that she is stuck in.

Beautiful sceneries, directions to depict characters’ feelings, and profound remarks to Paul by Victoria’s grandfather, Don Pedro Aragon were very impressive. Each sceneries appearing in the film, especially the beautiful vineyard and the valley, emphasizes the peaceful atmosphere of people living there and the romantic aura between Paul and Victoria.

Then, the way of showing the sceneries was also sophisticated, which helped me catch what the characters were feeling. The most impressive for me was the acting of Anthony Quinn. His warm remarks and behavior to Paul was very touching. Keanu Reeves was acting very cool as the main character for sure, but I was fascinated by Anthony Quinn.

Teacher's note: Yeah, Anthony Quinn was a classy actor in his day, a true Hollywood treasure. In this movie, he is in the twilight of his acting career, yet he practically "steals" the whole movie. Paul was looking for new jobs and met Victria in the bus. Victria was talked with two strangers and Paul protected her from them. So they talked each other and Paul pretended to be her husband. When he went to the Victria's house, her father doubt[ed] him because it seemed he didn't have a past. And through the event that happed in her house, Paul went to not able to leave her.

He went back to his house at once, however he was told to be separated by his partner. However, he falled in love Victria, it was good for him. Lastly, her father and he quarreled and grape field burned. He showed he is member of Victria's family at that time. ANd finally, he was recognized marrige with Victria.

I like Victria's grandfather who like chocolate and like Paul. He was important roll in this movie so that we can see the story.
This movie was really fun. Thank you.

A Walk in the Clouds is a story about a young-married US military soldier, named Paul, who returned home after the World War II. When he was going to Secramento to sell chocolate, he accidentally met a girl named Victoria who finished her master's degree. She has not married yet but got pregnant by accident. During the journey they talked a lot. Due to her pregnancy, Victoria was afraid of her father who respected old Mexican tradition.

Thus, Paul proposed to pose as her husband to help her face her dad and they go to her house.At home, her father,Aragon, does not like him because he is not a Mexican and orphan. During staying at her house, Paul fell in love with Victoria. However, Paul decided to come back to his home and left Victoria, When Paul arrived home, he found his wife cheating on him. Paul then headed back to Victoria's house "Las Nubes" and confessed his true love to Victoria.

I think this movie has beautiful love story and good actors performance. Specially, the movie`s background,Las Nubes, and Mexican culture are so impressed to me.

I was surprised because Keanu Reeves was soooo young!!! At the beginning, I thought that movie was boring, but as story continue, it was so fun! My favorite character is Victoria Aragon's grandfather!!! He is so funny when he eat chocolates with Paul!! I thought he looks like my grandfather because also when he eat chocolate, he always looked happy In addition, the landscape in the movie was so beautiful!! It is countryside! I want to stay like there !!!

Teacher's note: Yes in 1995 or so, Keanu Reeves was in his late 20s I think, long before the Matrix, and long before John Wick. "A Walk in the Clouds" is one of those movies that asks you to start slow and build to a beautiful ending. Patience may be required. But the payoff is worth it. Paul was a soldier who fought in World War Ⅱ. Then he just came back to his house for meeting his wife. But she didn't care of him so he was really upset. So the next day, he left her for some time. When he took a train, he met a pretty women in there. But she vomited to his suit. I think this kind of first meeting seems awkward. Unlike me, maybe Paul was interested in Victoria. And then they went separate ways. However, they met again in the bus by the irony of fate. Actually, Victoria was pregnant and abandoned to boyfriend. It was terrible situation for her because her father, Alberto is an inflexible macho. Definitely, he couldn't understand her. Paul was an orphan. Then he wanted to help Victoria and her little baby like him. They pretended that they are real husband and wife.

When she came back at home, Alberto was disappointed at her. Because Paul didn't suitable to Victoria. He was just a poor guy who sold chocolates. Alberto loved his daughter so much. But he couldn't express well. He might thought that she will married with a man who is smart and rich. However, he totally wrong. So he hard on Paul.

In this film, my favorite actor was a grandfather. He was so cute and gave some nice advices to Paul. And Paul's effort changed Alberto's mind to soft. I love this kind of movie, the romance! I hope that they recovered their shelter soon and made true love. It was a happy ending! That's the reason I like it. Thanks!

A Walk in the Clouds [portrays] the life of military soldier, named Paul, who returned home after the World War II. On his way he met a girl, named Victoria, and he got to know her. She just finished her master's degree and she's going back home. She lives in a small town and his father, Alberto, [who] owns a big land and he produces wine.

While she was studying, she got pregnant so she asked Paul to help her and pretends to be her husband. The story continues by showing that Alberto doesn't accept Paul because of his ethnicity, but eventually Paul proved to Victoria's father that he's a good man. At the end, Paul decides to follow his heart so he divorces his wife and and gets back to the small town to marry Victoria. Finally, I think the story is really nice, it shows sacrifice, love, and destiny.

I relly enjoyed this movie!! First of all, I was inspired when the scene changed black and white to color one. There were no sense of incongruity.

Alberto, Victria's father, loved his all of family member so much. However he did not know how to show and say how much he loves them. Therefore, his behavior and word were so harsh to them, especially his daughter, Victoira. That's why she was afraid him so much to go back to home with her baby without hasband.

Every scenery was so beautiful, when Paul was taught the way of fans,when Victoria was dancing in the big grape' stage and when Paul was singing to Victoria. I think this encounter was nearly destiny and so wounderful. I really long for such a story.

And this last scene when Alberto confessed his honest feeling about his family member, I was moved. They lost their precious grape field, but they seemed to get something important than that.
