- How does Dewey (the main character) change in the movie?

Everyone except Dewey thought Dewey is lame. He had lived dysfunction until he got the special call. He called it ‘gig’ at the very first time. He told a lie to school and pretend like a real teacher to earn money for paying a rent. Surprisingly, Dewey and students were changed little by little through preparing the secret project. Dewey helped them to develop their musical skills and students found their real abilities from his lectures. Dewey also felt happy to be play band with them. sadly, he was caught pretending a teacher by his friend. He gave up everything but students let him back to band.

What does he learn from his students?

He learn pure and kindness which he could not have or he have forgotten by living with adult as time goes by. Students also teach him that there is no limit to do everything to anyone. sometimes he gave them some assignments and missions. Student did their work so hard.

How does Dewey (the main character) change in the movie?
-Dewey was enthusiastic about rock music and he was proud of playing rock music, but he was too crazy about it and was lazy except for it. After he went to the school as a substitute, he changed into a responsible person.

What do the students learn from him? (Pick one or two students and write about what they learned)
-The student that I want to talk about is Lawrence, who was playing piano. Lawrence who is very quite was introspective and afraid of what people think about him. So he said to Dewey that he can’t play the piano because he isn’t a cool person. But as he had classes with Dewey, he could get more confidence. Because Dewey gave him confidence by making him feel that he's cool during playing the piano. So I think Lawrence could learn confidence from Dewey.

How does Dewey (the main character) change in the movie?
-He used to be in dysfunction. Also he wanted to show off his skill and he did not contribute to his band at all. Then he got fired by band. However, through the music practice for the secret project with students, he realised the importance to enjoy the music purely. At first, he just wanted to win the band battle. However, he hopes that the students will enjoy playing music together, it doesn't matter whether they will win or not in the end.

After seeing this movie, what is your view on children learning music in school? Is it helpful, or is it not worthwhile? Why/why not?
-I think teaching children music is very important. Music has no rule and the most important thing is to liberate the heart to express their feeling. Even if how the lecture is very high level, they cannot enjoy the music without play by themselves i think. It doesn't matter how bad or good the persons is at playing music. In Japanese, music is 音楽, and the theory is "enjoy the sound". I hope children can know themselves through music more and more.
