The boy is a curious child, and likes wild animals. When he stayed at his home alone, he noticed that the antenna wasn't working. So, he went outside, and found the strange trail and followed that. Then, he met the IRON GIANT. At the first time, the boy was so afraid of the GIANT because it ate only IRON, it's not normal. But, when the GIANT almost died because of electricity, thee boy turned off the switch of the electricity and saved the GIANT. Then they became best friends. Kent Mansley doesn't like the GIANT because he thought that it was harmful for people but it is not true. and Dean McCoppin is a friend of Hogarth, he works by using scrap metals so he helped Hogarth and the GIANT. Finally, the GIANT saved the earth and became the super-man!!!!!

Hogarth is brave and open-minded boy. He always tries to be friends with anything. Thanks to his friendly mind, the Giant and Hogarth could become close friends.

However, Kent Mansley didn't think he never harm people. He said "It's an invader from Mars!", then he tried to erase the Giant from Earth. He launched bomb to kill the Giant, but it implied that the town would also be destroyed. The Giant helped people by means of being sacrificed. He became a superman! Although he seemed to be dead, he will be alive because he can fix himself.

Hogarth is a brave boy who saved Giant by turning off the electricity even though he was afraid of the big robot at first. He always tries to make friends with anything not only human.
On the contrary, Kent thought Giant would harm people by attacking, so he tried to kill it. However, the Giant saved children. But Kent didn't change his mind and launched a missile. At that time, Giant saved people there which means it became a real superman! This movie told me how the friendship is important.

Hogarth saw his house's antenna was broken and footprints in the woods. Then He was intrigued and followed the footprints. At that place, there was electric power plants and giant iron. The giant was eating iron. Then the way, it was electrified and Hogarth helped it. Later giant had remembered him, and then they became friends.

Kent is a[n] army [man] who wnats to destroy and catch the giant. So he is enemy to Hogarth and the giant. Hogarth met Dean at restaurant. And during he was looking for a place to hide the giant, Hogarth remembered Dean's house. At first, Dean gave hidden the giant to his house wiht no choice but later became friends.

This film give lessons that we should not judge to see only someone or something's appearance. Something looks bad at first, but it may not be a real. We have to see inside. -Elly-

Teacher's note: I like this all-around summary and character profile because it has detail, yet it is concise and to the point. Thank you, author for a nice job.

Hogarth is a common child, but he started to change when he met the giant. Hogarth was scared when he first met the giant. But after Hogarth helped the giant, who had a crisis, a friendship started between them.

Hogarth and Dean McCoppin became friends and helped each other. But in the beginning, Dean didn't want to help Hogarth to hide the giant because the giant was trying to eat Dean's works of art. Kent and Hogarth's relationship was bad from beginning to end. One of the reasons is because Kent tried to find and destroy the giant.

I'm really amazed at how in the last part, the atomic bomb couldn't destroy the giant, at all. I am really interested in what kind of technology created the giant.

teacher's note: I too wonder what technology or civilization created this Giant. I also wonder how this guy survived the zillions of miles of space to arrive on Earth given that the speed of light is the fastest known speed. At the speed of light, the nearest star is some 4 years away. But most stars are millions of light years away. Besides the bump on his head, it is no wonder that the Giant cannot remember where he came from. Thanks for a thoughtful post.

This simple film describes very close friendship between robot and Hogarth. Hogarth is very curious little kid who's dad passed away. One day, he found 100-foot-tall robot, who eats metall, tangled in wites, at the beginning he was scared and tried to leave, but then he decided to help him by turning off the whole electricity in the city. After that, they became very close friends, and Hogarth taught him to the all beauties of the world, and fed him. Dean is a very kind, modest men of art, he also helped to hide the robot from the government. Kent Mansley is a typical negative character who bothers Hogarth by forcing him to tell information about the robot.

I really enjoyed to watch such great old film:)
