According to the speech, presented by Wendy Chung, and the movie Rain Man, there is a general image of autism suffers, that the autism can not have a good contact with other people. However, the autism have talents to do something. In Chung ' speech, a boy named Gabriel, having a remarkable gift in mathematics. In the movie, the hero, Ray, can memorize things exactly and quickly.

Nevertheless, there are some differences between reality and movie. In the movie, Ray must keep a strict schedule or criteria in his life. In fact, the autism will not keep order all the time. In the article "The Kids Who Beat Autism," the author, Padawer, cites a research that by tracking 85 children, from their autism diagnosis (at age 2) for nearly two decades and found that about 9 percent of them no longer met the criteria for the disorder.
