A2: Alonzo kept doing something illegally such as smoking narcotics when he confiscates from others, killing someone, corrupting the money, etc. Alonzo also forced Jake to play a part in his crime and even used the gun to threatened him. Jake wanted to be a justice police officer and realized what Alonzo has done stained the title of narcotics officer Detective of L.A.P.D. Therefore, Jake was no longer obey Alonzo. He started to against Alonzo and at the end of the story, he collected the evidence of Alonzo’s corruption.

Q3: At what point does Jake realize the truth about Alonzo?
A3: When Jake was ditched by Alonzo in Smiley’s house. Smiley and his fellow told Alonzo’s situation when they played the poker.

Q4: Write a summary/setup of TRAINING DAY.
A4: Jake met Alonzo, who was an experienced narcotic officer, in a cafe. Then they start their day by catching some college students who bought the drug from Alonzo’s informer. After confiscating the drugs from college students, Alonzo forces Jake to smoke it. Jake was reluctant to do so because he wanted to be the one who could stop people smoking drugs. However, Alonzo used to gun to point at his head.

Jake became dizzy and accidentally saw a girl was about to be raped by two drug addicts. He decided to put the two drug addicts into jail but Alonzo said it was unnecessary. Even though Jake was confused about Alonzo’s decision, he left and took the girl’s wallet. Later, Alonzo and Jake caught a dealer who was in a wheelchair. Alonzo threatened him, saying that he would go to prison for many years. The dealer was afraid and he gave the information of “Sandman”.

Using a menu as a search warrant, Alonzo and Jake stole $40,000 from Sandman’s house. Then they went to Alonzo’s mistress’ house for some lunch. After finishing the lunch, two men had a meeting with “Three Wise Men”. Alonzo went back to Roger’s house and killed Roger with the purpose of corrupting the money. Jake did not want to be a part of it and was furious about what Alonzo has done. In the evening, Alonzo ditched Jake at Smiley’s house. He found out Alonzo’s situation and decided to arrest Alonzo. Jake took the money as an evidence and walked away while Alonzo directly drove to LAX to avoid being killed by Russians. Alonzo’s death ended the story.

At first when Jake met Alonzo, he thought that Alonzo has something that he does not. Alonzo seems to read others’ mind, judge quickly and accurately, and have a lot of practical experiences as a police detective. Because Jake wanted to be a man like Alonzo, he decided to do whatever he told him—taking drugs, inspecting a private house without a warrant, and even manipulating a murder case. Whenever Jake feels confused and wretched in doing those things, Alonzo always say that people can be what they want to be only when they are able to face the “reality.”

However, what is the reality? Later in this movie it turns out that the reality is so much dirtier and uglier than Jake expected. Alonzo is not a perfect police detective, but just a cruel and hotheaded rogue. Now, Jake tries to prove that he is not like Alonzo.

This movie is about the choice that we must make as an adult. As an adult, we have a well-established notion about what is good and what is bad; However, we often witness that things do not work out that way in the real world. We need a balanced attitude to those things. If it is impossible to be a man in this world, we should try not to be a monster like Alonzo.

2.As the story go, Jake found out that Alonzo is not the one he thinks Alonzo is, found out Alonzo’s real purpose. The reason of why Alonzo offer him the job is to use him, make him be a complicity with Alonzo, and Alonzo can get more money when separating the spoils. He feels the justice that he believes have been discredit.

3.There are lot of sign showing the true of Alonzo, such as asking him to use drug and robbing a house with a restaurant menu, but Jake keeps ignore them. Maybe he also notices that something is going wrong, but still convince himself that everything is normal, he just be trained. Until Alonzo possess money, which should be evidence, and kill the man in front of him, he cannot lie to himself any more.

The film tells the story of the darkness of the society, a young police officer Jack and a mature police officer to fight against criminal activities. But this mature police officer Alonzo has his own rules. This makes Jack not understanding. In the fight against the prisoners when he felt a total of Alozzo some dark things. Jack felt corruption in the police station.Alozzo persuaded Jack many times that Jack had done things with him. But Jack refused every time. Once, Jack was cheated by Alonzo, he smoked marijuana. After the assassination of Alozzo, Jack tried to stop him, but Alozzo threatened him.At the end of the movie, I found that Jack was kind. He stopped Alozzo's behavior through a special way. In my opinion, no one is born to be bad, people may be changed by the environment. People should keep the hearts of goodness and become positive sunshine.

This film has intense story lines and the tight structure of story telling. It pictures the first day of a new police officer who becomes the detective, and shed the light on disclosing the police corruption among the system in the country. At the start, the relationship between Jake and Alonzo seems like teacher and student, Jake respect his coach Alonzo, and wants to be a hero in this field. However, when Jake realizes that Alonzo is not doing the right thing and could get him into a trap, he becomes confused and depressed.

The turning point is when Jake witnesses Alonzo and his team kill a "friend" of Alonzo, and make Jake as a scapegoat of this deal. Jake realizes this is just a spot of the whole story and he himself is seems fighting with the whole dark side of the system. Finally he tries his best to do the right thing, but the bad guys are not really be punished.

In the whole story, Jake seems like a representative of every young person, who is fearless and still has the judge of right and wrong. In real life, many people are becoming "Alonzo", who is greedy and hopeless to the world. We realize a lot of truths when growing up, but most of the times, we may find that the world is not always beautiful as when thought, as a matter of fact, people start to change, since they do not want to get hurt like the lamps stand in front of the pack of wolves. The description seems depressed, but it is the thing that adults may realized after growing up. Sometimes when people growing up, they become the people that they hated a lot as a child. We are sure that Alonzo is not like this when he was young too.

So, wish the "Jake" side of everyone lives in our hearts, and never leave.

Training Day is one of my favorite films, so I decided to leave a small review here.

A rookie policeman, Jake Hoyt (Ethan Hawke), goes to work in the elite anti-drug unit of the Los Angeles Police Department. Jake falls under the start of police veteran Alonzo Harris (Denzel Washington). Alonzo has learned that it is useless to fight with legal methods with this evil, and therefore chose a kind of philosophy that balances on the verge of good and evil. Particularly good is the criminal district where all criminals stand for each other like a mountain. Impressive, and delight the ear with two soundtracks: the first - Dr. Dre - Still Dre, the second - a gloomy-exciting soundtrack. A bright and unusual atmosphere reminds me of scenes from the GTA: dangerous guys, «strange» girls, instead of long conversations - shooting without warning.

The whole movie looks at one go, the dialogues are really interesting. The film can be rewatched many times and it will not get bored.
