I really love the animation made by Hayao Miyazaki. Hayao Miyazaki’s animation always reveal some real issue. Just like Chihiro pull a lot of trash out of river god’s body, we can see how human treat their environment. Characters, Yubaba and Zaneba, are also interested me. They have same appearance but different character.

The relationship between Haku and Chihiro is also interesting, because they have familiar situation. Haku protect Chihiro at begin. And then Chihiro save Haku’s live. They both help each other to remember their name. And Haku have saved Chihiro when she was child. That’s why they feel familiar with each other.
At the end, Chihiro successfully save her parents and go back to their world.

I really love this movie, I have watch this movie more than 5 times. But I still don’t know the meaning of the the black people on the train.

Between the country village and the theme park there is a long dark tunnel, a mysterious river, and an abandoned empty station, making a kind of boarder. All these details suggest that the theme park is completely different place from the world where Chihiro has been lived until now. In fact, everything is changed in the theme park; Chihiro’s parents are transformed to pigs, Chihiro loses her name and her clothes including her shoes. Chihiro is hired by Yubaba and starts to work for her in Yubaba’s bathhouse.

Yubaba is a master of the bathhouse. Her living space is on the top floor of the bathhouse full of antique crafts embellished with gold and colorful gemstones. It looks glamorous and splendid but it gives an impression of extravagance and greed. She has a baby. She loves her baby so much that she never let him out from his room decorated with the best quality antique furniture and all sorts of luxuries. Everything in the bathhouse goes for Yubaba’s fortune and possessions. Yubaba is a queen of the bathhouse with the great fortune and the unlimited power.

On the other hand, Chihiro’s mission is far from making money because only she wants is to go back home with her parents and protects Haku. Chihiro works hard and runs a risk not for herself, but for her parents and Haku. 10-year-old girl fully understands what love is and her love enables her to remember Haku’s forgotten name and save her parents by distinguishing them from other pigs.

Master Haku was the good of Kohaku river. Chihiro and he had relationship when she was a child. When she drowned in Kohaku river, he saved her. She remembered him, and he got his true name.

What is the secret of Yubaba (see below)?
I think the secret of Yubaba is Bou and Zeniba. Bou is her son and she is soft on him. He is everything to her. Also, Zeniba is her twin sister. Yubaba thinks of nothing but making money. Zeniba is kind and lives in a simple way. They are opposite. I think Yubaba feels a sense of inferiority because Zeniba lives happily with less desires.
