well after watching tin cup, my opinion of golf did not change because i do not understand golf pretty well. i used to play golf or mini golf when i was young but i dont anymore. i find it boring like the game baseball it is too slow

Khalid-- Thanks, buddy, for being the first to post for Tin Cup. I need to strongly suggest that you take this opportunity to express more of your ideas. WRITE MORE. As you dig deeper, you'll find that there is much to be interested in, not boring at all. Also, before posting, please check for GPS (See my post above.). Remember, the whole world is watching. As for golf itself, once you begin to understand its drama and its challenge, it becomes very interesting IMHO.
Take care. --mike  www.moviesgrowenglish.com 8-)

Hi Mike, this is Thanya.
Tin Cup is a good movie. It's not only teached [taught] me about golf but also love and friendship between the characters. Speaking for myself, although golf is far from my interests and I don't know any rules about this sport, but I do like this movie. I love the way they mixed a love story and a relationship among friends with golf along the whole story. Roy, the main character, might not be able to get into the US open without the inspiration from Molly. Also he might not have finished the tournament without his best caddy, Romeo. Finally, the movie gave me a lesson about life that can be used in real life. Don't be afraid to take a risk or to be failed. Because if we never try we will never know how far and how much we can do.

Hello Thanya-- Now I know how to spell your nickname. Thank you for your first post (of many, I hope) at MGE, and what an insightful post it is. One thing I love about Tin Cup is that it is able to draw a universal truth from a sport that has limited appeal. Your comment nailed this concept. Of course, I love this game, but imagine if they made a rom-com this cool about soccer or basketball!? I'm looking for that movie. BTW, after watching Tin Cup, are you ready to try your hand at golf?

Hi this is Cem. I like romantic comedy movies so i really like "Tin Cup" too. At first, Molly and Roy don't seem perfect for each other because they have contrast personalities. Roy is talented but he has no money, he loves to live his life spontaneously and also he has no home except his caravan. On the other hand, Molly is a fashionable and classy lady and also she has a very rich and famous boyfriend but he is arrogant and he doesn't like three things which are dogs, chilren and old people. In my opinion, Molly is looking for a man who loves people and also who is emotional. Roy is not only emotional but also he loves people and Molly. It is a kind of situation that sometimes opposite poles attract each other like a magnet. :)

Hey Cem-- It sounds like you enjoyed Tin Cup. Thanks for a cool summary. There are some pretty advanced uses of syntax here. For example, "not only... but also", transition words "at first", "on the other hand" "in my opinion." Good job.

Hi, this is King. Before I watched the TIN CUP, in my opinion, the golf seems like a kind of easy sport.Just standing on the land, and hitting the small balls into the hole, and that is the all ideas which were in my mind about golf. Now I think the golf is a kind of sport which needs many skills and very hard. In the film, I think that the hero, Tin Cup, was trying to gamble in the Open, but lives are not always perfect. He lost the game, but he also showed his amazing golf skills in the open, and became the legend----from the skills levels. It was a dangerous gambling. He did not have to try this skill in the Open. He can try this skill at home. If he did not hit the last ball into the hole, he will totally fall in the Open. If I were a investor, I would not invest him, because he is not stable.

Good morning, King. I'm happy that Tin Cup has enhanced your appreciation for the game, at least a little. Golf is indeed an extremely difficult game to play well. Pro golfers spend hours each day hitting little balls into the sky, practicing different shots. Last year Bubba Watson was in a sudden-death playoff to win the Masters Tournament (a major). He hit his approach shot into the trees--huge error. Everyone thought he had lost. His next shot came out of the trees and hooked 90 degrees onto the green, six feet from the cup--a miracle shot. He then won the tournament. Thanks for posting.

HI, this is Alice. In here, Golf is the most important key which can improved people's love, then be a couple. Roy who was talent of golf; however, he has problem with himself. I think movies almost like to put one people has some problems, and then there will has a angel or MR. Right comes to help them. Moreover, Molly who is a beautiful angel, is a psychologist solved Roy's trouble. Nevertheless, Roy failed in the U.S open because his psychological unbalance. In the movie, it is not only show some golf's skill, but also tell us when people always work together for long time, they will probably to be a couple.I think play golf is one of the easiest sports before I tried it.so I give up. After I saw this movie, I want to play golf if I have a opportunity. Finally, I learned that nothing in the world is difficult for one who sets his mind on it.

Hi Alice-- Yes, golf seems like it should be easy but it is not. However, it can lead to romance as Tin Cup "proves". This essay has excellent spelling and punctuation. Please be careful with grammar. Thanks for posting.

Roy McAvoy AKA Tin Cup owns a golf place in his home town with a little ambition and alcohol addiction problems , He to tries to go for the US open but failed to finish . I got interested in golf now and I watched a game of golf a couple of days ago when Tiger Woods won. Finally I understood golf and was able to enjoyed it.

Hey Mike, this is Tarek aka Tom
I really did not expect that I will enjoy this move in fact when you first put it on I thought it will be a boring movie but by their first few minutes the movie pulled me in I liked all the caricters [characters] in the movie the go for it Roy, the strong personality of Dr.Molly and last but not least Romeo the cady caddy.

Roy and Molly seem perfect for each other because they are the opposite of each other he is as I said before a go for it man but on the other hand Dr.Molly is a thinker that thinks before she acts and because she is a physiatrist she have a chance to fix him.

After seeing this movie my opinion of golf changed in fact I want to try this fun game in real life :D

Mr. Tarek a.k.a. The Coolest a.k.a. Tom-- Thanks for writing a nice summary with a little commentary thrown in. I'm glad this movie has helped open your understanding of the great sport called golf. Are you ready to go to the driving range and hit a few balls? Welcome to my world.

I really enjoyed this movie! I liked the golf part in this movie and I learned little bit about the rules in the golf game. Also, the music is great and the characters are equally well casted.

Thanks Basma for posting. --mike  http://www.moviesgrowenglish.com ;)
