At the beginning, Gisele thought that just meeting a prince and falling in love within the first seconds is the TRUE LOVE. She didn't even know him and his personality. After a while she realized that they didn't have anything in common and changed her view of true love. She fell in love with another guy.

Robert don't believe happy ever after and think that everyone should date before getting married. He takes true love and marriage as rational things.

Giselle thinks true love is exist, [exists] and believes that as she see[s] him she will knows he is the one.
ENCHANTED says that people in real world are lack of sympathy and not willing to help.As for fantasy world there don't even have "angry"everything are so smooth and easy.

I had watched this movie before but it's at home not in the theater. There are many people going to watch this movie at that time in my country.I think this movie is really different and it's a good idea to make this kind of film, but when the evil queen turns into dragon I think it's a little bit ridiculous.I don't like that part.Except for that I think ENCHANTED is a good movie.
thanks!
Teacher's note: The very first time I saw Enchanted (in a theater) I loved it --- except for the ending. It is ironic that Susan Sarandon, a great Hollywood actress, is given such a silly part and leaves us with a silly climax. IMHO the montage and song at the end saves the finish and helps us forget the blue dragon.

What does Robert think of true love and marriage?
Robert is cynical person who lives in real world without hope. In concrete jungles and daily routine people are tend to become cynical. They slowly stop noticing everything around them, happiness, love, sky and stars, etc. US is famous for trends and according to not only the movie people used to get divorced. Less and less romantic people appear, even if there are romantic people, they romantic behavior slowly dying in such cruel environment.

What does Giselle think of true love?
She is solo cuuuute! Pure and motivating lady who tries to change such cruel world. There is always hope that true love do exist, it depends on people. Giselle believes in true love and makes everyone and everything believe as well.

What does Enchanted say about the fantasy world vs. the real world?
The fantasy or fairytale world is perfect place to live with no angriness, negative, etc. The real world is opposite, big and cruel with small chances to change.

Write a summary/opinion of ENCHANTED.
Although it is goofy and silly romcom, it leaves something inside of our hearts after watching it. Somewhere very very deep inside which is difficult to notice :P Still it is nice and pleasant approach of director who had some message to convey and I guess his message conveyed entertainingly and colorfully. Not a completely waste of time but very nice suggestion as a date movie.

Teacher's note: Thanks to this author for a thorough coverage of Enchanted. As the writer (along with others) points out, Enchanted finds a way to cut through our cynical exterior and penetrate a soft spot in our hearts. And not a minute too soon. Nice post.

Enchanted was in fact a very interesting film, because although its premise suggests the impossibility of "happy endings", at the end of the movie, there is not only one happy ending, but four of them.

Giselle is taken out of her world and brought into our reality, where apparently no happy endings, or fairytales exist; she is confronted with a strange world that denies everything she believes in, and everything she is.

Here she meets a divorce attorney whose name is Robert, her opposite, who does not believe in love or anything that involves fantasy-like, "dreams come true" situations.

Gradually, our reality persuades her, although, at first she is disappointed by the fact that love consists of many more complexities than she once originaly thought.

She lives through many strange situations with Robert and finally changes her mind and decides to give "our" concepts of love and happiness a chance, because, of course, she has fallen in love with Robert, who also begins to have a different opinion on love.

At this point, Edward, Giselle's love, the prince, finally finds her, and she has to make the most important decision in her life, whether she embraces forever her vague, "fairytalish" concept of love or she accepts our "more real" definition of it.

Here the story becomes even more fantastic and "fairytalish" than the ones we are used to seeing when watching a Disney film. The collision of the two worlds results in a ridiculous amount of not only fantastic, happy endings, but ludicrous, heroic finales, which are even more outrageous.

Despite its simililarities to the Greek tragedy at its beginning, being that the oracle where she dreams of her prince and fate, drive the story line of the movie; as well as the witches' fear, that is made a reality that she provokes unconsciously. In the end, it is just another fairytale that attempts futilely to state that reality, with its varied range of emotions and situations, is better than fiction, but clearly this film does not achieve this.

Enchanted is undoubtedly the kind of movie I would choose to watch on a rainy Sunday with my little sister.

Teacher's note: Not one but four happy endings. And a Greek tragedy. Great imagination and insight from this author. Thanks for a generous and super cool post.

This wasnt like a particular Disney movie, because it’s a little bit realistic about the fact that the people don’t fall in love just in one day, but they have to know each other their likes and dislikes so in that way you could really know if you’re really in love with that person. The movie talks about Giselle that is the princess and Edward her prince, that lived in a place called Andalasia and they met and want to get married to the next day but the stepmother of Edward the queen of Andalasia doesn't want them to get marry because she doesn’t want to quit to her throne, so she send Giselle where there aren’t happy ever after, New York City, the people here is so busy all the time that they don’t release of what’s happening outside them narrow view, so when Gisselle first came to New York was so lost until she found Robert and him daughter that help her to survive in the city. Robert wasn’t exactly the romantic type of gay but when he met Giselle he realizes that love also exist and that the marriage it’s not only a serious thing but is to be with the person you really love and Giselle realizes that not everything is so perfect always, that you don’t fall in love of the charming prince but at the end it would always be a happy ending, if it is not happy then is not the end.

Robert, a divorce lawyer, holds the opinion that two people should get to know each other very well before they get married whereas Giselle, a pretty girl looking for her Prince Charming, believes people should fall in love in the first sight. There is no doubt that this is the story about when fantasy world encounters real life. At first, I think this story is totally a cliché since it contains everything that a traditional fairy tale should have: an innocent girl, a brave prince and his evil stepmother. However, It is nice to finally see a Disney movie that isn't computer animated, the beginning was almost a forgotten memory of the old fashion animation like snow whit that I miss so much.

Then the true story begins when Giselle is pushed to New York City, a place without “happily ever after”. She encounters the rational divorce lawyer Robert. Their different personalities and characters don't mesh at first, Giselle is from fantasy world after all, then they change each other mutually especially for Giselle. Since girls in the fantasy world do not possess the emotion of angry, what they only have are emotions like happy, kind and brave. But to some extents, she gets angry in the New York City, that means anything could happen in this magic place, even "happily ever after".

In this movie, my favorite character is actually prince Edward. He is a wonderful lover in the fantasy world for the reason that fantasy world is not that sophisticated, basically just justice defeats evil, prince marry princess and happily ever after. Edward, however, doesn’t change at all since he comes to the New York City, even does not feel upset when his fiancée may fall in love with another guy. He gets dumped although he does not do any thing wrong. But thank god this poor guy also has a happy ending: get married and go back to the fantasy world. He is too pessimistic to stay in the real world and that is why I like him so much.

Once upon a time,There is a kingdom called Andalasia. A beautiful young girl named Giselle lives in a cottage in the forest. She is waiting for her prince to come so that the two can live happily ever after. Giselle, a simple and pure young girl, believe that true love is like a crush. Prince Edward hears Giselle’s sweet songs. They meet finally. They immediately fall in love and are to be married the next day. Edward’s stepmother, the evil queen sends Giselle to a magical well - NYC. In NYC, Giselle meets a handsome layer, Robert. However, these two have totally different views on love. From Robert’s perspective, love is a marathon. It takes time and patience to marriage. Date is also an important part in love. They live together and Giselle gradually discovers that love in the real world (NYC) isn't always as easy as in Andalasia. Fantasy world is different from real world. Love is simple people live happily. The word “angry” even doesn’t exist in the fairy tale. But in the real world, people have to rush hours, deal with all kind of problems and make a living.

ENCHANTED is so special and amazing. It combines animation and real world story. The development of the story is coordinated with beautiful songs and music. After watching it, I go to iTunes and download the original soundtrack to appreciate. Amy Adams is always one of my favorite actresses. Her performance is natural and pure (her movie Leap Year is fantastic). In this mundane world, it is not easy to have true love. So in some degree, ENCHANTED is a fairy tale for adults. :P

Robert considers true love and marriage in a really practical and safe way. Robert doesn’t believe true love because he has been hurt by his ex-wife. Therefore he is a little afraid of marriage. That’s why he haven’t married with Nancy even though they have been together over five years. He thinks love is fragile, he is afraid to make promise and he doesn’t believe ‘happily ever after’. He said in the movie: “I am not even sure we (he and Nancy) can make through this day.”

Giselle comes from the fairy-tale world of Andalasia, so she really believes true love. At first, she thought that true love is a duet. When she sang the song, Prince Edward could sing alone, so she engaged with him. But after she came to the real world and met Robert, the concept of true love in her mind has changed a little bit. She still believes in true love, but she feels that love needs more communication and more time to practice.

In the fantasy world, there is no negative emotion, such as angry. What they have is highly positive emotion like blessed and happy. On the contrary, in the real world, people surrounded by negative emotion, such as angry and sad. Of course, the opinion about true love and marriage is different as I mentioned just now. The funny thing is another difference between fantasy world and real world that the animals are totally different. In fairy-tale world, when Giselle sings, birds, squirrels and deer come out. However in the real world, when Giselle sings, rats, cockroaches, pigeons are coming out which is kind of disgusting for the audience.

What I feel about ENCHANTED is that I really like this kind of Disney movie. It is a new genre of movie, it break the limit between fairy-tale and real world, which is really creative. And happy ending is always attractive, it even makes me want to have a nice company like Robert. And the music is really good in this movie, the songs are beautiful, the melody and lyrics are talented. I’ll give 8.5/10 to this movie. Because I really like Disney movies. 

Robert is a realist man. His wife leaved him and his daughter, so he holds a somewhat realist opinion about love and marriage. He believes that a safe relationship is great. And he is about to marry a woman who he has dated for five years. He is not romantic. On the contrary, Giselle comes from fairy tales, so she thinks that people love at first sight and get married soon after that. Then they will live happily ever after. Yet after being sent to the real world, she encountered many difficulties. So she gradually understands that men and women have to spend time with each other, for instance date with each other or know each other's interests, before they know whether they are perfectly matched or not.

In fantasy world, prince can fall in love with a girl and marry her in a day, yet in real world one has to spend quite a long time to see if he/she is the right person to spend the rest of his/her life with. In fantasy world, people only have positive emotions, they are always happy and do not know negative moods. They do not have many troubles. However, in real world people can be"angry" and can have mixed emotions. And they are in various troubles everyday. Additionally, in real world people don't sing to express their feelings, which is common in fantasy world.

Giselle is a girl in fantasy world. She was about to marry Prince Edward when she has been sent to the real world by his stepmother. A man named Robert, who is a divorced man with a daughter, helped her in the real world. And they fell in love with each other. But they both have lovers so neither of them speaks their love out. Then Giselle was poisoned by the evil stepmother of Edward and Robert's kiss saved her. In the end, Giselle chose to stay in the real world while Edward married Robert's fiance. I think it's a relaxing movie. Some plots are really funny, for instance, when the squirrel tries to get Prince Edward to understand it, it performs really funny. And I love its musical ways of showing emotions and thoughts. Besides, it is effort-taking to bring fantasy to the real world. For example, Giselle asks her animal friends to help cleaning Robert's house. This scene is really hard to shot, so I think it's a very good movies. :D
