I don't know why but, "Little Miss Sunshine" left me a beautiful impression even though there were many black jokes in this film. Hoover family reminded me my family and I miss my home town now...

My most favorite scene is the scene which the family members pushed a broken yellow van, run and jumped in it. It's very funny scene but somehow filled with the love of family.

Then, my most favorite character is Dwayne, the boy who made pledge of silence. Actually, however, I like every character. Each unique character makes this film more attractive.

It was a funny and beautiful story. I will recommend it my friends for sure.

Teacher's note: I can feel the love in this awesome post. I remember the first time I watched "Little Miss Sunshine." I couldn't believe Olive was in a beauty contest. I kept looking at (I know this sounds strange.) her belly, and couldn't imagine her in such a contest, a fish out of water. But it was so cool that she had enough self awareness to ask her grandpa if she was pretty. And she followed through with the contest. I think Olive is my favorite character. Thanks for posting. Sorry for making you feel homesick.

I enjoyed in this movie, this movie taught me Grandfathers and Grandmothers are same in any country. Contest was good and funny. Grandfather character when he told to Dwayne “get a lot of women”.

Teacher's note: Thanks to this author for an itty-bitty post that hits some good points if only briefly. I would love more detail.

It's pretty amazing movie. I was laughing while watching it and when I remember some funny scenes of the movie. My favorite moment is when all the family ascended the stage and danced with Olive. In my opinion, It was the greatest scene in the movie. Also, I think Olive deserved to be Miss Sunshine because she was unaffected on the stage. Additionally, she had a special coach who taught her some crazy dances. All characters in the movie were witty especially grandpa

Teacher's note: Exactly! Olive was unaffected on stage, unlike all those ridiculously adorned other kids. Thanks for adding this excellent point to the discussion.

This movie is very black humor movie. Even we laughed when we were watching it, we can learn much in this movie. Everyone in this family seems has its own problems in the beginning of the movie, they are not the happiness family like others thought it should be. I like the Olive most. She just like little sunshine to warm everyone in this family.

The little sunshine contest looks like the show is prepared for adults. They dressed and trained their children like adults, it lost the pure which it should be appear in the children. It makes children like tools which can make money for the companies. I don't like it.

I like the scene when Dwayne knew he was color blind. When he knew he could not accomplish his dream, he became hysterical. He started to talk and complain what he unsatisfied in this family. When everyone in the family thought he might not be able to continue traveling, his sister came to him and convince him to continue. It was a warm scene.

I like this movie. It about learning and growing.

Teacher's note: IMHO this author does the best job in describing the hypocrisy of the Little Miss Sunshine contest. I also like that Olive brings real sunshine into the lives of those around her, her family. She is able to get Dwayne to come back to the bus without saying a word. So cool. Thanks for posting.

I like this comedy-drama road film. Despite all the difficulties, family members support each other. I am proud to say that I have the same wonderful family! And members of the jury would do well to expand the horizons of children's talent.

This movie is a dark comedy. There is a family in this movie. They have a problem to communicate each other. Later, They take a trip for Olive's beaty contest. Meanwhile, his grandpa passes away, and they have a hard time. However, finally, they understand each other.

This movie was funny, but it made me thinking about family.

I like this movie very much because you may be able to understand how important your family is. Although their conversation was awkward, they try to unite at last. Without family, we cannot do big things. If we try to overcome big things, there are nothings we can do with family members. This movie told me great lesson. Thank you for this movie.

I heard many times about Little Miss Sunshine but I never had the opportunity to watch this movie. In my opinion, It was a great movie about family life that kind of remind me how much I can miss my family.

My favorite caracters were Edwin the grandfather who loved heroin but who unfortunatly died early in the movie and the gay brother Frank who was kind of an observer trying to do his best even though he was in severe depression. In this movie, we can learn how much a family can bring to each other. Love, compassion, support when there are some difficult moments. As a spectator of the movie, it reminded me to cherish my family and to try my best no matter what.

Teacher's note: I don't believe we've heard from this author before. There is some amazing observation here, especially about grandfather. I too was sorry he suffered an unfortunate fate. So glad you enjoyed this gem of a movie. Thanks for posting!
