I liked the movie. It reminded me of highschool days. Back then, I didn't want to go to school like Ferris and his friends and had many thoughts for my future. I think the movie tells us about the right role of the school education. Schools are not just for an academic education. They must support the students and try to help them to plan their lives. In my highschool days, I didn't know what do I like or what do I have to do. Teachers and parents want me to just study, and it was very stressful. I think it has been a big problem until now. Today's students in my country suffer the same problem. And Ferris teaches us an important lesson: Enjoy your life!

It doesn't mean that you should play all day, but it means that one day is okay. You can do anything you want to do for one day just for yourself. It's your life, and you are the master of your life.

It was interesting that the movie covers a story of just one day. It was short and comic, but I think it makes us to think about a lot of things including the real meaning of education and the importance of communication in family. I liked the scenes of the lecture. A teacher kept saying 'Anyone... Anyone...' and it was super funny. It tells us how dull the school education today is. (Of course there exists good education in real life)

And about family matters, Cameron had this kind of problem. He had a problem with his father who is not sincere to his family. Cameron had a fear to be against at his father, but eventually he behaved bravely.

It was my first time to watch this movie, so I couldn't understand the situations deeply, but these are my opinions about the movie! Thank you!

Teacher's note: Oh man, do I love this post! I want to meet this author and shake his/her hand. Funny, I don't think things change that much as this author suggests. Each new generation must find its way through the system and try to come out a whole person, and it's never easy, boy or girl, rich or poor.

In my day, I remember we actually had a "cut day" near the end of the school year when all the high-school seniors took a day of. If you asked your teachers if it was OK, they would not answer, but everyone . . . everyone knew the unspoken fact. We seniors were gonna cut class that day, and we did. It was awesome. Now, as a teacher on the other side of the fence, I'm not suggesting anything. But I'm just saying. Thanks for the first post.

I really enjoyed this movie as well as a first movie. It was the first time to watch this movie. It was easy to follow the content of this movie. I watched this movie while comparing it with my high school days. In my case, when I felt I don’t want to go school, it was the day when I wanted to do nothing. So, Ferris’s action was very new for me.

I really like Ferris’s character. He is funny and totally different from me. So, I thought I wanted to be Ferris once. Ferris thinks that the life is short, we need to enjoy! After watching this movie, I felt I wanted to [be] absent class and go to somewhere.
Thank you.

Teacher's note: I like how this author compares her life with that of Ferris Bueller and even her personality with his. One suggestion: Please don't "be absent and go somewhere." I would miss you. Thanks for posting.

This comedy is very interesting. I love the setup and the characters, especially Ferris and his incredible thoughts and acts of a day off. Actually, he did everything I wanted to do when I was in high school, including the way to pretend my parents' sounds to call for a day off. Everything which seemed impossible was done by Ferris and [it] made life become funnier. If there is a "Ferris" in the real world, I would like to be friends with him.

In the movie, I realized that my personality is similar with Cameron's. We both desire freedom. We both have something in our mind but we can not shout it out because of being controlled by parents, school, or even society. His release taught me one thing: Don't be afraid of expressing your opinions out loud. Following your mind and enjoying your life are the most important things.

Thank you for sharing this movie.

Teacher's note: This posts seems to express why Ferris Bueller continues to be such a classic. It is so much fun and reflective to watch the story and compare it and its characters with our own experience. I think in my day, I was more like Cameron than Ferris too, sorry to say. Thanks for a cool post.

I enjoyed this funny movie. Simply, I think Ferris took [a] day off because he did not want to go to school, and he waned to have fun.
Also, I believe that he does not want to obey a common-sense such as just going to school and studying. Cameron had been a guy that had not disobeyed his parents even if he did not want to follow. That was a his problem, and he was irritated by himself.

However, he changed his behavior by breaking the car and trying to talk to his father. I do not know whether breaking the car is good or not, but he could change. Then, I could see American style of family and school. The movie showed that kind of life of students in the United States. Moreover, the Ferris's family was not like my country's family because of the way of treating him.

I like Ferris's character. He fascinated everyone, and he could do whatever ha wanted. He is great. He is wonderful. I respect him as one of the mentors.

Thanks.

Teacher's note: This author has done a pretty good job of describing both Cameron and Ferris. What interested me most was the point of student life in America and how it's different. I would LOVE to hear more about this. Thanks for weighing in.

I really enjoyed this movie. I guess some people tried to absent the school in their life like Ferris, but in this movie scale was totally different. First of all, Ferris's plan was prepared well from a long time ago. He made many tricks to deceive his family or teacher. I thought why he did them carefully. I think it is not for himself, but for his girlfriend.

And he made Cameron corporate to borrow his Ferrari. Cameron cooperated [with] him eventually, though he was not willing to do it. I could see in it the friendship with best friend. If my best friend want[ed] to do something for his girlfriend, and he need[ed] my help, I [would] have to do corporate as much as possible, I think. Thorough this movie I really enjoyed his funny acting and the his serious planing.

Teacher's note: Yes, the planning for this day off was quite serious and detailed though perhaps unbelievable. At least, I couldn't do it. So why does Ferris go through so much trouble? I half agree with this author. Ferris wants to show Sloane a good time. But Ferris also wants to show Cameron a swell time too. It doesn't hurt that Cam's dad has the Ferrari. Thanks for posting.

It is usual and natural for an adolescent boy to skip a school, but I can tell in case of Ferris, it is much more reckless. It seems that he was trying the limit of his capacity. In my case, there was a time to attempt my ability actually. Thus, Ferris was trying to enjoy the rest of high school life, and his ability against the society.

Teacher's notes: This post hits some intriguing main ideas. I'm craving for more detail. Thanks for a concise post.

I really enjoyed watching the movie ,and I think Ferris is so funny especially the part when he was lip-singing . That was hilarious. The film talked about something we all have done in high school, which is skipping classes, and Ferris is a perfect example for that.

I think Ferris decided to take a day off for two reasons. First of all, he wants to experience adult life. Secondly, he wants to impress Sloane and proves that he loves her by showing her around. However, Cameron joins them and he has some problems. He has a weird personality. He's constantly worried about anything, especially his father. Finally, this movie tells me that not all Americans are serious at school, and American kids can do crazy things just like Ferris.

Teacher's notes: A most revealing post. We know this author has skipped school in his day. So let's hope dear old dad doesn't read this. And yeah it's true (our little secret) that not all American high-school students are serious about school. One style suggestion is to settle on a time frame instead of jumping from past to general time. Thanks for a nice post.

It was my first time to watch this movie. It was really fun!! I like ["Ferris Bueller's Day Off"] because that it made me remind about my high school.

About Cameron, I think he just afraid of too many things and also don't know how to say "No" to other people that even he thought it not right. America family is very different from my country. In the US, parents will listen to their children after they made mistake. In my country, parents usually blame their children first.

I don't think they skip the class is a big problem, but it depends on not too many times. In this movie, these children were very clever that you never imagined that you can cheating like those ways. Even though they liked to skip the classes, they still face to the problem that about the future. I think every student had this confused when they were in high school. They will learn by their experiences and step by step to their future.

Thanks for sharing this movie and let me felt happy and remember my story.
Also, thanks for your reading. :)

Teacher's notes: Reading this post is my pleasure. I like how it compares American high-school life with life in her country. It is ironic that even though the guys were "being bad" by skipping school, they couldn't help thinking about their problems and the uncertainties of the future. Thanks for posting.

I really like this movie~~

Life moves pretty fast. If you don't stop and look around once in a while, you could miss it.

When I was driving to school with my friend, he made a remark about how I "always" make a big deal out of my mistakes, he feels, not enough of a big deal about the things I does well every day. He might have a point: I have high expectations about my master degree. because I still study in IEP classes. I mean I hope to get master offer quickly. especially now that I am getting older and the stakes are a little higher.

But I want to skip school every once in a blue moon, go on adventures with my friends, dance and sing Beatles songs in a parade. I admit that I can be a little uptight about school, but challenge is good for my grown up. May be I still can learn different things in free time. Maybe u need to do that more often too . Anyone know where I can find a 1961 Ferrari 250 GT California Spyder?

Teacher's note: I love what this author has to say about taking the message of "Ferris Bueller's Day Off" to heart. The message seems to have reached a bifurcated nerve that connects with responsibility and freedom at the same time. Even I need to heed the call to action, too. Thanks, author, for this timely reminder of the truth.
