Phil Connors (Bill Murray) is a weatherman sent to report on Groundhog Day, only he hates this job.  Rita (Andie MacDowell)  is Phil's producer.  She sees him as a man of many character faults.  On this day of celebration, Phil insults everybody he can, even the groundhog.  When he wakes up the next morning, he finds that he must relive the same day again, and he is the only person who can remember what happened before.   This is the start of an unusual adventure in which a man is given the chance to remake his life until he learns to become a better person.  Groundhog Day, a classic comedy, was added to the U.S. Film Registry as being "culturally, historically, or aesthetically significant".  Rated PG (101min.) mike laib 2012.
