Rob Gordon (John Cusack) owns a used-record store in Chicago and has broken up with Laura (Iben Hjejle), who now lives with Ian (Tim Robbins), a conflict-resolution therapist.  Barry (Jack Black) and Dick help run Rob’s vinyl-record store.  Rob talks us through his problem: why women keep leaving him.  He figures that he needs to revisit all his old lovers to learn the truth and win back Laura (with help from Bruce Springsteen, Lisa Bonet, & Catherine Zeta-Jones).  Rated R (113 min.)  mike laib 2010.
