Here is  the first in a collection of interplanetary adventures of John Carter, written in the early years of the 20th century by Edgar Rice Burroughs and  finally brought to the big screen in the early 21th century by Disney Studios.  When Carter arrives on Mars, he realizes that its low gravity allows him to have super-like powers.  He soon finds himself in the middle of a long conflict between the forces of Zodanga and Helium.   There are also the Therns who seem to favor Sab Than, Jeddak of Zodanga, who plans to marry Dejah Thoris, princess of Helium.  But from the minute the eyes of John and Dejah meet, . .  it's love at first sight.   Rated R (150 min.) mike laib 2012.
