Royal (Gene Hackman) is head of a large American family living in New York City.  Son, Chas (Ben Stiller) became successful in business as a child, and Richie (Luke Wilson) became a tennis star at an early age.  Adopted daughter, Margot (Gwyneth Paltrow) wrote successful stage plays as a teenager.  Royal has been separated from wife, Etheline (Anjelica Huston) for some twenty years.  When Royal runs out of money, he suddenly develops terminal cancer and asks the family to let him move back in.  But the Tenenbaums are a family with many issues, more than a few secrets , and lots of anger towards Royal.   This story, directed by Wes Anderson, is a classic family love tale that makes you laugh and cry at the same time.  With Owen Wilson, Bill Murray, Danny Glover.   Rated R (110 min.) mike laib 2012.
