Donna is a beautiful girl I would say. She is a little bit coy person[,] but she knows how to communicate with people, particularly with men. When Frank asked her to dance, she said that she is afraid of making mistakes. From this scene we can infer that she is a responsible person. Furthermore, she did not know how to dance, yet she is good and fast learner.

Teacher's note: This author makes astute observations, and from one of these draws a reasonable conclusion about Donna's character. I would love to see this taken to a deeper level. What else can you infer? Do you find these traits attractive? For example, I'd say she's a bit of a risk taker and confident enough to trust her instincts about judging strangers. What can we infer from this? Big thanks.

Frank is a talented person. His dancing was perfect even he was blind. Moreover, he's a kind of casanova. He knows how to talk and hit on women in professional ways. I think he has not been blind since he was born because normally blind persons don't know how to smile in polite way. His smile looks warm and polite. Besides, he is self-confident. He wasn't nervous or did any hesitation when he talked to Donna

Teacher's note: Like the previous author, I'd like this author to press the shovel blade a little deeper into the soil and challenge herself to draw more conclusions about Frank Slade based on the profusion of clues. For example, if he is self-confident and suave, do you think he is a leader or a follower? What kind? Also please note the past/now time shift in the character summary. Is it appropriate? Finally, I'm blown away at your observation about how Frank hasn't always been blind. I never would have noticed this in a million years. Thanks for posting.

Charlie is a quiet person. He is kind of shy. He looks has stayed with Frank a long time because he listens to him and does what Frank asks[.]

Teacher note: I'm looking for 5-6 sentences in a paragraph, requesting more detail here.

Frank Slade is the interesting character. My first impression was that he was just a boring father. I thought that he was going to send his son to meet the woman, but Frank went with him and took the initiative. Another thing that surprised me is that he recognized her scent. I assume he was a perfumer, and he knew women very well; even though he was older and blind, he charmed the woman. :D

Teacher's note: This comment seems so pure and honest because Charlie is not Frank's son at all, but if you didn't see the entire movie, you might think he was Frank's son. Therefore, this observer is able to really see the true relationships between the characters. Charlie is a soap salesman introducing his son to a beautiful woman. Actually, in the story none of this is true, but I see it! Thanks for posting.

Frank has a unique character. He has a great confidence that makes him take the firs[t] step in a second. Moreover, even though he is blind, he has the ability to know and notice any small details around. He uses his intelligence as eyes that can watch and analyze the situation and take an action. However, he is very obsessed with women, and I think this is a negative side in his character.

Teacher's note: Thanks for a well-rounded observation of Frank. I agree that, even though he is handicapped, it may not excuse him for his obsession. But I'm not sure if he "crosses the line." To me, he still seems always a gentleman. He gives more than he takes. What do you think?

I watched this film before and it is hard for me to describe Frank by only one episode.
Frank is a very experienced person and he shows it in every detail: his talk, his movement, his dance. It seems to me like Frank has a lot of things to teach young Charlie. Frank sometimes becomes sad , sometimes funny. He believes that life is unfair and he is bored of it. Frank is on his way of rethinking about it.

Donna is such a beautiful lady . she is very shy of doing mistakes . I noticed that when Frank asked her to dance ,she was afraid . Also , She was sitting quietly waiting her boyfriend . She has a nice personality . She welcomed them to set with her without anger .

Hi Mike,
I didn't get chance to watch it fully but according to that short scene you showed us Frank is one of the main characters on which movie itself depends a lot. And of course it's Al Pacino, he is the greatest! Therefore, if there's Pacino, the movie is doomed to success. I liked Frank's confidence. He is disabled but still alive, that is what he shows in the movie. If we alive we are able to enjoy life as well as others no matter what kind of problems we have. His confidence in attitude, speaking and actions make others feel confident as well. It's a good quality. Moreover, he is not just confident, but knows how to deal with women and different situations. I'll try to write a bit more when I watch the whole movie so I'd be able to comment more critically I guess.
