Riddick (Vin Diesel) is an escaped convict and a man of destiny in this sci-fi cult-classic adventure.  After escaping from bounty hunter, Toombs (Nick Chinlund), Riddick finds himself on planet Helion Prime when it is overrun by the Necromongers, an army powerful enough to rule the universe.   Its leader, Lord Marshal (Colm Feore), has seen a vision where a man like Riddick will kill him and steal his throne.  Dame Vaako (Thandie Newton) is the ambitious wife of Lord Vaako (Karl Urban) who may also have his eyes on the throne.  Aereon (Judi Dench) is the Elemental who could hold the key to Riddick's destiny, if only he'd listen.
