Steven Soderbergh directs this thriller about a deadly virus, MEV-1, and how people react, some good some bad.  Beth Emhoff (GwynethPaltrow) is its first victim.  Her husband, Mitch (Matt Damon) is immune, but their daughter may not be.  Drs. Cheever (Laurence Fishburne) and Mears (Kate Winslet) team up to define the virus and trace its origin.  Dr. Orantes (Marion Cotillard) searchers for the source in Macau, China while Drs. Hextall (Jennifer Ehle) and Sussman (Elliot Gould) focus on a new vaccine.  Blogger Krumwiede (Jude Law) uses MEV-1 to get rich.  Who will live or die when a friendly handshake is all MEV-1 needs to seal your fate?
