In 1757 America was in its first great military struggle.  England and France fought for control of the continent.  The early-American Colonists and native Indians were caught in the middle.  Hawkeye (Daniel Day-Lewis), Chingachgook, and Uncas help two young women rejoin their father, a British colonel at Fort Henry in this story of war, betrayal, loyalty, sacrafice, and romance.  Based on the novel by James Fenimore Cooper.
