Director, Hayao Miyazaki tells the story of five-year old Sosuke who meets a goldfish with magic power.  Sosuke calls his new friend Ponyo, but when she changes herself into a little girl, she accidently changes the balance of nature.   This causes the earth’s gravity to grow and the oceans to rise.   Now Ponyo’s mother and father, guardians of the sea, must decide how to restore the balance of nature before it is too late.  With the help of Sosuke’s mother, they must also find a way for Ponyo to choose a future where she will be happy, but everything depends on what Sosuke does.   With Cate Blanchett, Noah Cyrus, Matt Damon, Tina Fey, Frankie Jonas, Liam Neeson.  Japanese Academy Award, Best Animation Film.  Rated G (101 min.) mike laib 2012.
