Fourteen-year old Lily Owens (Dakota Fanning) has lost her mother. T. Ray, her dad, (Paul Bettany) has a terrible anger streak.   It’s 1964, and Lily, along with Rosaleen (Jennifer Hudson), the family housekeeper, leave home in search of freedom and truth.   They end up at a beekeeper farm in South Carolina run by three sisters: May (Sophie Okonedo), June, (Alicia Keys) and August. (Queen Latifa).   As Lily comes to know the sisters and their friends, she realizes that they each lead a bit of a secret life, like the bees that they take care of.  Lily has her own secret, one that she has carried around since she was four, a secret that will destroy her if she cannot find answers and some healing power.  Perhaps the three sisters can help her understand the true meaning of love and forgiveness.   With Tristan M.
